Traumatic Traits of Fatherless Men

Fatherless menThere is a dearth of fatherlessness in the world and in the church today. The emotional and spiritual effects of this have been nothing less than catastrophic! The following are some of the symptoms of fatherlessness. (This can be applied to both natural and spiritual fathers.)

I. There is an insecurity and/or a sense of inferiority because of neglect, lack of affirmation, or abandonment

Some men continually walk around with insecurities that negatively impact the way they relate in business, ministry, and marriage. They never fully trust their abilities and hence, they don’t always trust others around them to do the right thing towards them. This sense of inferiority causes them to try to hide their low self-esteem by projecting a machismo persona full of confidence, but inside their souls they are always afraid. . . . Read More ... >>>

Dis musiek in my ore !

. . . Read More ... >>>

On Earth As it Is In Heaven - (in your family)

"PuOn Earth As it Is In Heavent on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another...even as Christ forgave you." (Colossians 3:12-13)

Having a home filled with peace and joy and tender mercies is a like a piece of heaven on earth
.  We all have experienced moments of this, or hopefully will soon experience the peace of God in our lives and homes. Sometimes it is so difficult to bring the piece of heaven to those that are closest in proximity to one another. There are financial pressures and time pressures and the next thing you know, not only is heavenly bliss so far away, but harsh attitudes and words now resemble a place tremendously south of heavenly borders.

What is the cause of the mess that can occur to disrupt a loving family?

The truth is that there is an opponent, and He realizes the power of unity sometimes more than we do. . . . Read More ... >>>

National day of repentace for ABORTION in SA - 900 000 babies already murdered

1 Feb 2010

National Day of repentace for AbortionEvery year we lose more pre-born babies to abortion than the combined death toll of crime and car accidents. Since 1 February 1997, over 900 000 babies have been killed in South Africa - by abortion - with tax payers money.

Legalised abortion is a national disgrace. The 1st of February 2010 will mark the 13th anniversary of the legalisation of abortion on demand in South Africa. For this reason, Christians who respect the Sanctity of Life will be observing 1 February as a day of prayer and repentance for the national sin of abortion. Pastors throughout the country will be preaching on the Sanctity of Human Life on Sanctity Life Sunday (31 January), and congregations in every province will be joining in prayers of repentance. . . . Adultery

Flirting and AdulteryI Have this burden on my heart to share some thoughts on a thorny matter.

If I have to give this ‘matter’ a title, it will have to be long title like William Wilberforce’s book:A Practical view of the prevailing religion system of professed Christians in the higher and middle classes in this country, contrasted with Real Christianity’.   My title will be the following:

A code of conduct as a helpful aid in protecting Real Christians from the sin of adultery / emotional adultery / marital unfaithfulness and other smaller not-easily recognizable sins relating to Real Christian Marriages and  Friendships.

The essence of this matter I cannot put in better words than those of Frank Peretti  in the introduction to his book, ‘The Oath’

Sin is the monster we love to deny. . . . Read More ... >>>

VISION: What could happen INSIDE your UNSAVED FAMILY MEMEBER ON DEATH bedby Francis Frangipane www.frangipane.org

A few years ago, I had a dream in which I found myself inside the mind of a dying man. The man had been in a coma for some time; his family had been praying, but they did not know whether or not he had accepted Christ. All they were sure of is that, throughout his life, he had resisted their efforts to lead him to Christ.

In the dream, I became so acutely aware of the man's state of mind that his thoughts, feelings and struggles almost seemed my own. Although his eyes were nearly closed and his vision clouded, he could see his loved ones at his bedside. I watched as he tried to reach toward his family, but outwardly his arm never lifted. Perceiving his thoughts, I heard him speak . . . Read More ... >>>

Midlife Crisis – MLC

Midlife Crisis – MLCThe first question you should ask is: ‘What is a Midlife Crisis?’Dr Anthony

MLC is an emotional condition that can appear in both men and women, usually around 45, however latest studies reveal that the spread is more around 35 to 50. The anxiety felt usually focuses on the realisation that a person’s life is halfway over. One of the factors has to do with aging. The person may feel that by the time he/she reaches the supposed halfway point in life, he/she should have achieved more.

Marc Gerzon made the following statement about understanding the Adult Metamorphosis: ‘I had a war going on inside me between the voice that said: “You’re finished growing, you’re done, it’s a done deal; and another voice that said: You’ve only begun to explore what life is about!” ’

This sums it up beautifully, doesn’t it? . . . Read More ... >>>

Now THAT's a Community Church

Now THAT is a Community ChurchExtract: "If we become a church of brick and mortar, we may cease to be a church of flesh and blood.”

Our motive should not be to fill these seats, but to empty these seats,” Mercer has often stated to a profoundly unified and supportive congregation. But he admits it has taken a transformational journey to embrace a mindset that would rather see local families with roofs over their heads and food on the table rather than the church having a better sound system.

I think it is important to look at the following story, not as a model, but as an encouragement towards obedience from a community of God's people. We are watching God do many things through His people and there is a divine shift going on that will impact all systems and methods. . . . Read More ... >>>

Starting a "Place of Safety" can be dangerous, but now there is room for others to come on board!

Starting out HTML clipboard In the November newsletter of OrhanAid  we  heard about the unexpected challenges as they started up their new Place of Safety.
Much can be learned from them as they manage this project to help open doors for other Kingdom builders. They are encouraged as more people start to work together.
Below an excerp from www.OrphanAid.co.za 's November 2008 newsletter, that includes this beautiful rainbow remark: "Springside is a bit like the UN as it is full of people from every tribe and nation, it's wonderful - a real reflection of God's Kingdom.

Marketplace - The New Venue for Kingdom Expansion

Business = Kingdom ExpansionLove is the greatest mystery in the world. There is no other force or power in the world as great as love. Love will cause us to give up our very lives. Only after love motivates us to die to our self-focused life, can we know resurrection life. Just as Jesus gave up His life for others and was resurrected to a far greater life, we will experience a far greater life now on earth as love motivates us to selflessly serve. The Babylonian-style world cannot comprehend the value of the love of God. It is a mystery to the people of Babylon.

The love of God will cause us to lay down our lives for our brothers. We will seek to provide for our brothers' needs. Jesus' love coming forth in us will cause us to serve one another. We become humble servants and not proud rulers. We keep His commandments to love God and love one another.

The desire to serve stemming from love is the foundation of kingdom enterprise. We serve Jesus as we serve mankind by providing for peoples' needs. . . . Read More ... >>>

Motivation to keep serving in Africa

Motivation to keep serving in AfricaExtract from this article by Heidi and Rolland Baker from Mozambique: But, ha, there is a secret place, a hiding place, a lower place, a holy place that exceeds our dreams. It is not found in anything external and impersonal. It is not found simply in activity, sacrifice and dedication. It is not found in goals, projects, productions and progress. It is not found in finances and growth. It may be missed entirely even when preaching, teaching, training and discipling. It may be forgotten completely when evangelizing and praying for the sick. The greatest and most powerful gifts don't necessarily contain it. Even ministry to the poor may become an impersonal effort that misses that greatest and most intensely motivating creation of God, that supreme display of His glory: relationship!
