Follow-throughFollow-through A carrot, an egg, and a cup of coffee...Submitted by DeonDP on Mon, 2010/07/19 - 9:57pm
A young woman went to her mother and told her about her life and how things were so hard for her. She did not know how she was going to make it and wanted to give up. She was tired of fighting and struggling. It seemed as when one problem was solved, a new one arose. Her mother took her to the kitchen. She filled three pots with water and placed each on a high fire. Soon the pots came to boil. In the first she placed carrots, in the second she placed eggs, and in the last she placed ground coffee beans. She let them sit and boil; without saying a word. In about twenty minutes she turned off the burners. She fished the carrots out and placed them in a bowl. She pulled the eggs out and placed them in a bowl. Then she ladled the coffee out and placed it in a bowl. Turning to her daughter, she asked, "Tell me what you see." . . . Extract:God never allows for situational ethics. There are absolutes in the Kingdom of God. The Word of God does not change because of culture or accepted practice.
It was an "industry practice" to sell doves in the temple. But Jesus never accepted the practice because he knew it was turning a holy place of prayer into a commercial enterprise. It did not matter that it was an accepted practice.
God calls each of us to operate from a plumb line of righteousness in our work life, no matter the consequence. . . . Read More ... >>>
The pathway toward the Kingdom of God is interesting, isn't it? We think we have made it to the summit only to see another pinnacle to climb. When we think we can relax, plant roots, and get comfortable, all of a sudden - a mighty wind blows, once solid foundations begin to crumble, and we stand there bewildered, asking God, "WHAT NOW?"
Please let me share a bit of our story with you… . . . Read More ... >>>
The desperate ones
There is a spear point of people – for they are not many
The path they travel is the narrow one and few (a small in number) will find it.
A people set apart
A people chosen
They are hand picked by the Lord from before the beginning of time . . . Read More ... >>>
"And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ." (Ephesians 4:11-13)
I want to talk on unity here. This scripture says "Till we all come in the unity of the faith". If we're ever going to truly advance the kingdom of God, if we're ever going to transform our communities, cities and nations for Christ, we're going to have to grow up together "as one" Body of Christ.
It is not enough for some of us to come into relationship and further revelation in Jesus and not be concerned with the needed contribution of our brothers and sisters in the Lord. It has never and will never work that way. We're a part of each other. The Bible calls us to be one body...the Body of our Lord Jesus Christ. . . . Read More ... >>>
The Room17-year-old Brian Moore had only a short time to write something for a class. The subject was what Heaven was like. "I wowed 'em," he later told his father, Bruce. "It's a killer. It's the bomb. It's the best thing I ever wrote."
It also was the last. Brian's parents had forgotten about the essay when a cousin found it while cleaning out the teenager's locker at Teary Valley High School.
Brian had been dead only hours, . . . Read More ... >>>
This story started many years ago in a Baptist church in Bournemouth, England. One night the pastor, Dr. Francis Dixon asked a man named Peter to share his testimony.
Peter got up and said, "This is how I was saved. I was in the Royal Navy. I was walking down George Street in Sydney, Australia and out of nowhere stepped a gentleman and he said to me, 'excuse me, sir, but could I ask you a question? I hope that it won't offend you, but if you were to die today, where would you spend eternity? The Bible says that it will either be in heaven or in hell. Would you think about that, please? Thank you. God bless you!" Then the man left. I had never been confronted with that question - I couldn't get it out of my mind. I got back to England and met someone who took me to a mission and that's where I became a Christian". . . . Read More ... >>>

What has been on my heart is the glory of the Lord, that we could have more of His presence and more of Him in our midst. 2 Corinthians 4 tells us that we are earthenware vessels but the treasure, the glory inside of us--is the Lord!
Extract: Even though it may be the dull, monotonous routine of daily living--BE FAITHFUL!
Be faithful even though you may find yourself at this present moment
surrounded by the flaming fiery furnace of heavy trial. God chooses His
children for places of effective ministry and testimony in the furnace
of affliction. Yes ,God uses trial, oppression and
humiliating experiences in our lives to refine us and to purify our
hearts.
"There is a place of walking
with God where you simply 'fear no evil.'"
True peace does not come from extreme indifference, nor does it originate from becoming so "spiritual" that you fail to notice the world around you. Peace is the fruit of being confident in God's love; it is born of the revelation that, regardless of the battle, "...greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world" (1 John 4:4).
The God Of Peace Will Crush Satan

What happened?
My wife and I were setting up our training room at 596 Alouette Street Elardus Park at around 19.00. The Training room is situated behind the double garage belonging to the tenants residing in the home on the premises, when at approximately 19.10 Michelle heard a commotion through the inter-leading door, peeped through and saw that the family were being held at gunpoint. She swung around, back to the door, saying: ‘They are being robbed!’ I was a bit indecisive and said to Michelle: ‘Run to the office and lock yourself in’. She replied: ‘No, they are being hijacked, they need help. The mom and babies are trapped in the car, please help them!’ I looked around frantically what could be used, and about the same time Michelle said: ‘Hammer!’ I grabbed two of them and went charging through the door, shouting: ’Leave the woman and children alone!’

For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Mark 11:23
The devil loves to make a playground out of people's minds and imaginations. He delights in filling their perceptions and senses with illusions that captivate them, paralyze them, and ultimately destroy them. How can believers avoid falling victim to the devil's attacks? They must make a spiritual and mental decision to take charge of every thought that enters their minds!
Taking your thoughts captive . . . Read More ... >>>
Conflict is unavoidable. Conflict is worth resolving.
Some people go around conflict, over conflict, or even under conflict, but fail to find an amicable way to go THROUGH the conflict. This is firstly a decision of the will. It secondly is a skill, which can be acquired.
Someone once said: ‘It is more rewarding to resolve conflict than to dissolve a relationship’.
