Truly Christ-Centered Leader Development

Truly Christ-Centered Leader DevelopmentBy Malcolm Webber, Ph.D. www.LeadershipLetters.com

God’s ultimate purpose in all things revolves around His Son:

having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself, that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth – in Him. (Eph. 1:9-10, NKJV)

The Son of God, Himself, is the final and complete revelation of God . . . Read More ... >>>

Learning to Say No

by Graham Cooke www.GrahamCooke.com

Learning to Say NoThe most difficult part of resting in the Lord is learning to say one simple two-letter word: “No.” I have had to learn how to say no. For every ministry invitation I accept, I turn down ten or eleven. I have to say no, because I know what I am called to be and do. If an event doesn’t fit with God’s vision for my life—no matter how attractive the event is—I have to turn it down. God has told me to work in a number of specific countries right now: if I receive an invitation from a different nation, I have to say no. I just can’t go. I know God’s parameters for me.

Rushing and productivity have no connection. The issue for us is what we lose when we rush, not what we gain. . . . Read More ... >>>

The Church and Business in God's Plan of Redemption

Credit Squeeze

Most people don’t have a full appreciation of the church and of business, much less an appreciation of how they should work together to accomplish God’s plan to redeem mankind and the earth. Instead, they see them as oil and water—they don’t mix. . . . Read More ... >>>

The Room (An Essay about a son's vision of his room in heaven)

MY room in HeavenThe Room

17-year-old Brian Moore had only a short time to write something for a class.  The subject was what Heaven was like.  "I wowed 'em," he later told his father, Bruce.  "It's a killer.  It's the bomb.  It's the best thing I ever wrote."

It also was the last.  Brian's parents had forgotten about the essay when a cousin found it while cleaning out the teenager's locker at Teary Valley High School.

Brian had been dead only hours, . . . Read More ... >>>

Stir Up Your Gifts

Stir Up your Sprotual GiftsThe gift is in us, but we have the responsibility to stir it up. The apostle Paul wrote to Timothy, "For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you" (2 Timothy 1:6).

In the New King James Version of the Bible, the verse is translated, "Stir up the gift of God."

The gift is not something we learn.

It is something God gave us.

It is something we need to discover and then stir up.

No one else can activate your gift for you.

You have to do it yourself.

You stir up your gift by developing, refining, enhancing, and using it. . . . Read More ... >>>

Why Jesus Was Never in a Rush

Rushing peopleIn this harried society, many of us feel guilty if we relax and are not engaged in hard work moment by moment. This often results in unnecessary stress and intensity that can lead to mental and emotional burnout.

As I ponder the life of Jesus, I notice that He was never in a rush as He walked among us, often taking time to minister to someone while He was on His way to minister to someone else (read Mark 5:21-43). This is foreign to many of us who attempt time management methodologies instead of utilizing life management principles in which each day centers around a major agenda or category instead of mapping out each minute of the day. . . . Setting your Goals - Are Spiritual

Why have Goals? - Only a few percent of people have a journal with written goals they update daily or at least periodically. Some view goals as an expression of selfish carnality. Others worry about being too "driven." One of the strongest incentives for goals is understanding the orientation of our faith; we become what we think about most of the time. Worse yet, if our focus is primarily on our fears (fear of failure; fear of what others think), we tend to inherit those fears. Our "faith" actually works against us.

For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me.  Job 3:25  KJV

What the wicked dreads will overtake him; what the righteous desire will be granted.  Prov 10:24 NIV
