Seven Steps to Societal Transformation

Seven Steps to Societal TransformationBy Joseph Mattera www.josephmattera.org

For the church to obey the Cultural Commission of influencing every realm of culture as salt and light (Genesis 1:28 and Matthew 5:13-16) it is essential that believers learn how to think biblically and articulate biblical principles in the language of contemporary hearers.

All the biblical covenants point to believers taking the lead in secular society and redeeming cultures for the kingdom and glory of God. . . . Read More ... >>>

Adultery

Flirting and AdulteryI Have this burden on my heart to share some thoughts on a thorny matter.

If I have to give this ‘matter’ a title, it will have to be long title like William Wilberforce’s book:A Practical view of the prevailing religion system of professed Christians in the higher and middle classes in this country, contrasted with Real Christianity’.   My title will be the following:

A code of conduct as a helpful aid in protecting Real Christians from the sin of adultery / emotional adultery / marital unfaithfulness and other smaller not-easily recognizable sins relating to Real Christian Marriages and  Friendships.

The essence of this matter I cannot put in better words than those of Frank Peretti  in the introduction to his book, ‘The Oath’

Sin is the monster we love to deny. . . . Read More ... >>>

How Human Society Advanced

by Gerald Chester www.strategieswork.com

How Human Society AdvancedThe first man on earth was a farmer. His name was Adam. Adam and his heirs were created to rule God's physical universe (Genesis 1:26–28). This work started in a garden.

Adam's specific assignment was to “work the ground” (Genesis 2:5 NIV). The Hebrew word used in this text is abad, which is also translated in other texts worship and serve. From the beginning, therefore, the idea of work was rooted in the mandate to rule God's creation and was a vehicle to serve and worship God. This is known by many as the "Creation Mandate" and gives work dignity, purpose, and significance. . . . Read More ... >>>

Confronting Your Industry Culture

Confronting Your Industry CultureExtract:God never allows for situational ethics. There are absolutes in the Kingdom of God. The Word of God does not change because of culture or accepted practice.

It was an "industry practice" to sell doves in the temple. But Jesus never accepted the practice because he knew it was turning a holy place of prayer into a commercial enterprise. It did not matter that it was an accepted practice.

God calls each of us to operate from a plumb line of righteousness in our work life, no matter the consequence. . . . Read More ... >>>

Revelation of the Kingdom of God

Revelation of the Kingdom of God By Barbara Yoder www.shekinachurch.org

The longer I spoke, the stronger the vision came. I was in Jakarta, Indonesia, in July 2007, and I was preaching at three services back-to-back, beginning on a Saturday evening. While I was focused on speaking to the people who were present and sitting there in the congregation, something strange was happening.

It was as if I was someplace far away. I seemed to have tuned into something far beyond this gathering. The audience was attentive, hanging on to every word. Even as I spoke, I found myself wondering, questioning. . . . Read More ... >>>

Qualified to Serve

Servant Laders with servant Hearts needed in The KingdomBy Dudley Hall www.sclm.org

He came to Simon Peter, who said to him, 'Lord, do you wash my feet?' Jesus answered him, 'What I am doing you do not understand now, but afterward you will understand.' Peter said to him, 'You shall never wash my feet.' Jesus answered him, 'If I do not wash you, you have no share with me.' Simon Peter said to him, 'Lord, not my feet only but also my hands and my head!' Jesus said to him, 'The one who has bathed does not need to wash, except for his feet. But is completely clean. And you are clean, but not every one of you.' John 13:6-10

It was not unusual for Peter to over react. We are glad, because we can all identify with him and learn from what Jesus said to him. Remember that this is the occasion of Jesus giving his last instructions to the disciples before his death. He is giving them a picture of what service in the kingdom of God looks like by washing their feet. . . . Read More ... >>>

The Land Beneath Our Feet

MeeknessBy Francis Frangipane www.frangipane.org

As a speaker in citywide and regional prayer conferences, I am often asked to unmask the "spiritual power" opposing the body of Christ in the conference region. City leaders and intercessors have even asked if I knew the "name" of the principle spirit that is resisting the church in their area.

"Do you want to know the name of the most powerful spirit opposing most Christians?" I ask. Eager faces respond affirmatively.

"It's Yahweh."

My questioners, who suddenly look like a tree full of owls, are always bewildered by my answer. They are sure I misunderstood their question. Then, I explain. I remind them that, according to the Scriptures, "God is opposed to the proud, but gives grace to the humble" (James 4:6). So, if we are divided in our hearts from other churches, if we instinctively look down on other Christians or if we are at all self-promoting in attitude, we are walking in pride. As such, the Spirit that stands to resist our endeavors is not demonic; it's God. . . . Read More ... >>>

The Power of Partnership

Partnerships "Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor."

Jesus illustrated the power of partnership when He "called the twelve to Himself, . . . Read More ... >>>

10 Shifts Necessary for City Transformation

10 Needed steps for City TRANSFORMATIONGod has always focused on the city throughout the Scriptures and history. As we understand what God is doing in each of these “shifts” mentioned below, then we will be better able to join Him in the work of transforming our city. We must shift from:

1. Institutions to Individuals, Cities, and Nations – While we as men and women seek to build institutions, organizations, businesses, and governments, God always is looking to build an individual, city, or nation. Within cities and nations, although God uses positions, He is primarily looking for leaders who will have influence for Him.

2. Organizations to Kingdom – We are entering the next phase of what God is using to teach us about His purposes. We have gone from intimacy in the beginning, to separation, the tabernacle, the cross, the Body of Christ, to building churches, to denominations, to Christian organizations, and no to Kingdom. Our focus must be on Him and His Kingdom alone and not our own.

The Current (2009) Move of God: 8 Characteristics

Current Move of GodOur preface to the article below.

First of all, as you know, we publish articles that we hope bring a fuller picture of the Body of Christ, and the ways of His Kingdom. The below report is from a visionary leader, and we respect it that everyone do not agree with his perspectives. We all have perspectives and paradigms that need to be challenged regularly. This is not an endorsement of all of Frank's perspectives, but a report that has challenges that are good for all of us. So please collect the truth from it that drives you further into Christ and His ways, and dismiss the perspectives that do not fit the direction the Lord has called you to. In the end, we all are called to continue to seek after the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and God is using many expressions of faith to help us see Him in His fullness. So just grab what the Holy Spirit tells you to grab, and release the rest... . . . Read More ... >>>

The Prophets Tower

by Samuel Chadwick

'I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me.' Habakkuk 2:1.

Habakkuk is the skeptic among the prophets. His prophecy opens with a passionate remonstrance with God. The times in which he lived were sadly out of joint. He looked for God and found chaos; for righteousness and found confusion. . . . Read More ... >>>

The Kingdom-Driven Life

Discovering God’s Larger Purpose and Our Place in It

Is there a vision broad enough to be the central mission for every Christian, every family, every ministry, organization, institution, and business, yet focused enough to be meaningful to us individually? I submit that there is such a vision, and understanding it offers the cure for all that ails both our souls and our society.

Who’s “In” and Who’s “Out”?

Power without a theology degree? The refusal of an empowered laity has proven the greatest failure of today’s church. The co-dependency of skeptical pastors—protecting their own financial interests—and lazy laity—protecting their own membership privileges has become an insidious addiction. Because of this cozy collusion, the more fervent and faith-filled entrepreneurs are finding their way . . . Read More ... >>>

A new beginning in the LORD's new year? Can it be the end and start of a new 7 year cycle?

There is nothing wrong with the our new year (1 January) according to the Roman calendar, which we all inherited. (That was when early NT Christians had their negotiations with Constantine not to be prosecuted any more)
That doesn’t mean we have to completely ignore the new year of the calendar that the Lord God Himself instituted.
The new
Jewish year started in Sept 2007 and can indicate the end and start of 2 x 7 year cycles according to one of the writers below. This can be helpful to understand more of the Lord’s “signs of the times” and especially His seasons.

"THE COMING WAVE"

During the early hours of the morning in December, 1978, I was seeking the face of the Lord, and this is what He showed me ...There will be a wave of God's Spirit, which will not have it's origin with any man or group but in Heaven, from the very throne of God! This move will sweep simultaneously over the Church of God and God's Children, bringing them into a relationship with Himself and each other, far beyond anything previously experienced.

It will be in Holiness, a wave of God's Presence for His Presence manifests itself in Holiness Exodus 3:14.

This wave will wash over His Church, seeking out all who are looking for and awaiting His Coming and will draw them to Himself! . . . Read More ... >>>

Prophetic Word: "AN ENORMOUS SHIFT IS UPON US

What was impossibile in a previous season is possible now- IF YOU SHIFT

16 November 2006- James Goll

Starting the New Year Off Right!

Often the Lord speaks to His prophetic people things that are to come at the beginning of a New Year (John 16:13). We each see in part and know in part (1 Corinthians 13:12). That is why we each must bring our piece of the puzzle to the table, so that together, we can see a greater composite whole. As we have now turned the corner into the Hebrew Year 5767, the following are some of the things the Holy Spirit has been emphasizing to me for the coming year and beyond.

Primary Verses--Romans 13:11-14:

"Do this, knowing the time, that it is already the hour for you to awaken from sleep; for now salvation is nearer to us than when we believed. The night is almost gone, and the day is near. Therefore let us lay aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light. . . . Read More ... >>>
