What is the Origin of Easter?

Many people celebrate Easter every year. But did you ever stop to think about how or why we started doing this? In these modern times you are taught that Easter celebrates the resurrection of Jesus. But it actually pre-dates that and has absolutely nothing to do with Jesus!

Stir Up Your Gifts

Stir Up your Sprotual GiftsThe gift is in us, but we have the responsibility to stir it up. The apostle Paul wrote to Timothy, "For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you" (2 Timothy 1:6).

In the New King James Version of the Bible, the verse is translated, "Stir up the gift of God."

The gift is not something we learn.

It is something God gave us.

It is something we need to discover and then stir up.

No one else can activate your gift for you.

You have to do it yourself.

You stir up your gift by developing, refining, enhancing, and using it. . . . Read More ... >>>

Discernment in a Media Age

JudDiscernment- SPIRITUALge not that you be judged. For with what judgment you judge, you shall be judged and with what measure you mete, it shall be measured to you again. And why do you behold the mote that is in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the beam that is in your own. Matthew 7:1-4, KJV

Don't pick on people, jump on their failures, criticize their faults--unless, of course, you want the same treatment. That critical spirit has a way of boomeranging. It's easy to see a smudge on your neighbor's face and be oblivious to the ugly sneer on your own. Do you have the nerve to say, . . . Read More ... >>>

The Pear Tree -( to help us not to Judge someone too quickly)

Pear tree and it s 4 seasonsThere was a man who had four sons.

He wanted his sons to learn not to Judge things too quickly. So he sent them each on a quest, in turn, to go and look at a pear tree that was a great distance away

The first son went in the Winter, the second in the Spring, the third in Summer and the fourth son in the Fall.

Discernment

Faith HealingThe first step to becoming a discerning person

Here is a Biblical truth that may cause some to readjust their thinking: Healings in a meeting are NOT a sign the teachings of a minister are Biblically accurate, nor are they an endorsement by God on an individual or movement, even if it is labeled "outpouring".

Jesus never said 'by their signs & wonders you will know them' or 'if there are healings I endorse the leadership', rather "by their fruits you shall know them." (Mt 7:20) The fruit is NOT signs and wonders, but a minister's character and lifestyle, but more on that later. I am NOT saying anyone is/was a false prophet, just that Jesus said signs and wonders are not the measuring stick.

People who use healings/signs/wonders as a measuring stick to determine if God is pouring out His Spirit misunderstand the heart of the Father, and are not following Jesus' teaching of how to make that determination. Thus, when the minister falls they are confused and hurt, thinking God was endorsing a man or movement or meeting, when in fact he wasn't.

People will be healed by the Father wherever there is faith. . . . Read More ... >>>

Elijah, Jehu, and the War Against Jezebel

As we considered how many political and religious leaders have fallen to immorality, as well as so many others, it seemed right to us that a fresh reminder of this enemy's deception be added to our discernment.
This message is adapted from Francis Frangipane's recently revised book, The Three Battlegrounds.

Is jy waarlik vry..............................?

Is jou GEES waarlik vry?

. . . Read More ... >>>
